Training & Workshops in Educational Facilities
We pride ourselves on providing caring, compassionate and tailored services for the staff, young adults and children at educational facilities.
This is what Pauline Bailey, Co Principal, Rochester Independent College had to say about our training:
“We had the opportunity to learn more and think more deeply about the whole topic in relation to a boarding environment and ourselves.
“This was a very worthwhile talk and you were friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable. This certainly helped our staff as part of our ongoing training and development and I would thoroughly recommend it to other schools.”

Staff Training & Support
If you work with children who are facing difficult issues such as eating disorders, self harm, depression, divorce and bereavement, we can help.
We run training programs for staff on how to spot the warning signs in children and how to approach and support the young people you work with. We also tailor our programs for boarding schools where the staff play an even more crucial role for the children in their care.
Talks on Nutrition for Teens
A good diet can have a big impact on a young person’s mood, academic ability and athletic capabilities. Many of the UK’s young people are overfed and undernourished.
The Recover Clinic offers talks on nutrition for teens that give young people a different perspective on food and how to take care of their physical wellbeing.
Many young women want to be slim and beautiful and many young men want to be tall and strong; however, too many teens try to reach these goals in the wrong way, leaving them vulnerable to low self-esteem, eating disorders and depression.
One of our talks on nutrition can help to steer young people onto the right path.
Eating Disorders Workshop
The Recover Clinic runs a workshop for staff at educational facilities to develop their understanding of eating disorders and Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
Our workshop focuses on the symptoms and signs of eating disorders, eating disorder treatment, and working with someone who suffers with an eating disorder. We also offer a tailored workshop for those working with young people in a boarding environment.
Young people suffering with depression and stress can resort to self-harming behaviours to cope with their feelings.
If you attend our Self-Harm Workshop you will learn about the behaviours and symptoms of a self-harmer, what to do if you suspect a young person is self-harming and the tools you can use to support the young people in your care.
Teenage depression is not just a bad mood or the occasional low. It is a serious problem that can have a big impact on a young person’s life.
If it is left untreated, teen depression can lead to problems at home and school, drug abuse, self-loathing, eating disorders, addictions and self-harm.
We offer an in-house Depression Workshop run by a therapist skilled at working with young people who have this condition. The workshop will train you how to spot, work with and support young people suffering with depression.
These skills are particularly important for those working in a boarding environment where they have a higher level of responsibility for the young people in their care.
Teen Pressures Workshop
The pressures that teens are under today are greater than ever. Many young people are consumed with worry and anxiety about their academic performance, their looks, their popularity, and with fears about life and death.
In our experience, we’ve found that young people with high self-esteem are far better equipped to handle stress and as a result have far fewer problems. Those young people suffering with low self-esteem often turn to drugs, self–harm, eating disorders and alcohol as a way of coping with the ever growing pressures they are under.
Our Teen Pressures Workshop is for educational facilities – it helps young people to identify stressful areas and gives them the tools to cope with this challenging time in their lives.
Training & Workshops in Healthcare Organisations
Hear what Dr. Chris Jones MSc FRSPH, Professional Head of Physiology, Nuffield Health had to say about The Recover Clinic’s advice, expertise and training:
“I have had the pleasure of working with Emmy and The Recover Clinic for two years and have found the experience to be extremely positive.
“In developing our nine-month Weight Management Programme, Emmy was instrumental in guiding our understanding of how to identify potential eating disorders, best practice in managing situations and how to broach difficult conversations with clients.
“Since the development phase of the project, The Recover Clinic have continued to play a close part in the programme by delivering regular training sessions to staff and acting as a referral option for clients needing specialist guidance. I would be delighted to recommend Emmy and the Recover Clinic to anyone working in a health-related field.”

At The Recover Clinic we offer training sessions for those working in the healthcare industry who wish to expand their knowledge and skill set in the following areas:
Eating Disorders Workshop
This workshop helps staff in healthcare companies to develop their understanding of eating disorders. Our workshop focuses on the symptoms and signs of eating disorders, eating disorder treatment, and how to work with someone suffering with an eating disorder.
Young people suffering with depression and stress often resort to self-harming behaviours to cope with their feelings. This workshop will help you understand the behaviours and symptoms of a self-harmer, what to do if you believe a young person is self-harming, and which tools can help you to support the young people with whom you work.
Depression is currently the biggest cause of employee sickness in the UK. We offer employers a chance to learn about depression.
Our in-house ‘Depression Workshop’ is run by a therapist skilled at working with young people suffering with depression. At the workshop you will learn how to spot, work and support young people suffering with depression.
Counselling Skills Workshop
For staff working in client-facing roles it can be useful to learn some basic counselling skills and to have an understanding of depression, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, self-harm and stress.
Our Counselling Skills Workshop is a 2-day program that teaches attendees basic counselling skills and techniques. We also provide an overview of the behaviours and symptoms of those who suffer with depression, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, self-harm or stress.
You will have the chance to explore assessment techniques and professional issues such as boundaries and client dependency.
This workshop is particularly useful for those working in the healthcare and leisure industry, as well as general healthcare providers.
